Somethings + Nothings: October 15, 2016
The last time I felt calm was a few weeks ago while reading William Finnegan's "Barbarian Days," a surfing memoir that helped me escape the day to day pressures of the moment by traveling back through his vagabond days as a surf gypsy in the 60s and 70s. Highly recommended if you need a breath of vicarious fresh air. We're knee-deep in the Los Angeles housing market these days - submitting offers, and counter offers, scouring listings and touring the city. The highs and lows are tremendous and warrant a post of their own. But in the interest of distraction:
